Known limitations.

Updated 8 September 2026 · version 1.0.6

This page is referenced in the plugin license. It exists so you know the limits before you buy: whoever finds out afterwards asks for a refund, and rightly so.

Revit versions

The plugin installs for Revit 2025, 2026 and 2027 and relies on geometry API behavior that Autodesk does not document in full.

Only Revit 2026 has been verified in practice. The 2025 and 2027 builds are compiled against the correct API for each, but have not yet been validated on a real model. If you use either, check the result before finalising a sheet, and tell us what you find.

The plugin says so inside Revit, the first time you run it on an unverified version, and asks you to confirm before creating any dimension.

What the plugin does not do

Where the result may differ from what you expect

Reference preferences other than "Wall faces"

Wall centerline, Center of core and Core faces depend on internal reference indexes that shift with the number of layers in the wall:

Plans with many angled walls

A linear Revit dimension only accepts references parallel to each other. On a non-orthogonal plan, walls that meet at an angle are dropped from that dimension, and the stretch comes out without the corresponding witness line. The report tells you how many references were dropped and why.

Walls very close together

When two parallel walls sit closer than the text height at the view scale, there is no legible room for both dimensions. The plugin prioritises not crossing the neighbouring wall: the dimension gets tighter instead of pointing at the wrong wall.
